PyGround Privacy Policy
Applies to PyGround (iPhone and iPad) and PyGround Pro (Mac).
Effective date: 28 September 2026.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no analytics.
- Your projects stay on your device. We never receive them.
- We do not collect, sell or share your personal information.
- The free iPhone and iPad app shows child-safe banner ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some data to serve them (see below). Buying "Remove Ads" turns them off.
- PyGround Pro for Mac has no ads.
Your projects and files
The Python code, blocks, flowcharts, sprites, backdrops and sounds you create are saved only on your device, inside the app's own storage. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Your projects run entirely on your device. No code is sent to a server to run.
If you export a workspace (.ltvz file), it goes only where you choose to save or share it. Like other app data, your projects may be included in your device's iCloud or computer backup, which Apple controls under its own privacy policy.
Advertising (free iPhone and iPad app)
The free version shows a banner ad provided by Google AdMob. We do not receive any personal data from these ads. To serve ads, limit how often they repeat, prevent fraud and measure performance, Google's software in the app may collect:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Device identifiers (such as the IDFV; the advertising identifier is never requested) | Serving ads, frequency capping, fraud prevention |
| IP address, used for coarse (city-level) location | Serving ads relevant to your region, legal compliance |
| Ad interactions (views, taps) | Measuring ads, fraud prevention |
| Crash, diagnostic and performance data | Keeping the ads working |
How we limit this:
- Child-directed ads. Because children may use PyGround, every ad request is marked as child-directed and as coming from a user under the age of consent. Google then handles the request under its policies for children, including the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). That means no personalized or interest-based ads and no remarketing.
- General-audience content only. Ads are limited to content rated G, and sensitive ad categories are blocked.
- No tracking. PyGround never asks for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- Consent where required. In regions that require consent (for example the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland and some US states), Google's consent form appears before any ads load. You can change your choice at any time in the app: open Remove Ads and tap Ad Privacy Choices.

Purchases
The optional "Remove Ads" subscription is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details. The app only asks Apple whether the subscription is active. You can manage or cancel it in your device's Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. While it is active, no ads are loaded and the ad software does not request ads.
Links to other services
"Watch Lesson" buttons and other links open our YouTube channel or web pages in Safari or the YouTube app. Once you leave PyGround, those services' own privacy policies apply.
Children
PyGround is an educational app designed to be safe for learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The only third-party data collection is the ad software described above, which is configured for child-directed treatment. If you believe a child's personal information has reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your data: deleting a project in the app removes it. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.
- Ad consent: change it at any time under Remove Ads › Ad Privacy Choices, or remove ads entirely with the subscription.
- Privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data. We hold no personal data about you. For data Google collects through ads, you can use Google's tools at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy, or contact us and we will help.
Security
Your projects never leave your device unless you export them, so they are protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and encryption).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
